To become a Canadian citizen, you must be at least 18 years old or be included with the application of a parent who is over 18 years old; be a permanent resident have lived in Canada for at least 3 out of the last 5 years (1,095 days) have filed your income taxes for each of the 3 years.

Prove their language skills in English or French (minimum CLB 4 for listening and speaking), if you are between 18-54 years old.

Not be under a removal order or declared to be a threat to security or a member of an organized crime group demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities of a citizen and pass the citizenship test, if you are between 18-54 years old and take the citizenship oath.
